Description
Tom Vassaux ~ Early Cleveland AA Member
13 Tracks 67 Minutes
Sobered up in Cleveland Ohio area Alcoholics Anonymous around time of Plain Dealer Articles.
Besides telling his story he talks a bit about the early history of Alcoholics Anonymous in the Cleveland area.
Also talks about important aspects of the program like quiet time, following the suggestions of the Big Book and working with others.
Like many alcoholics Tom was the black sheep of a good family that helped minimize what might have been greater consequences for his actions.
Resentments played a role in his progressing alcoholism.
How he got sober and some of the early members who worked with him
Overall a very good AA talk part drunkalogue, part recovery story, part what he did to stay sober, and part history.
Made from an original Reel to Reel tape from an Ohio area tape collection I preserved to CD.
Sound Quality is quite good mostly due to it’s being made from good quality source tape.
This Recording on this Cd Gives Great Insight into the Kind of Recovery Enjoyed by Many of the Early AA Members. They Weren’t Incessent Big Book Quoters. They Were People Who Had Looked Back On Their Life, Resolved Their Resentments and Made Amends to Others. Quiet Time and Working With Other Alcoholics were Important Practices.
