• Mercedes McCambridge won a Oscar for her role in GIANT which also starred James Dean.
• She was Spokesperson for the National Council on Alcoholism for a number of years and work with Marty Mann allot.
• She testified at the Hughes Hearings which resulted in sweeping legislation that changed forever how the Alcoholic and Drug Addict is viewed and treated by our society.
• Prior to this the Alcoholic was a criminal to be jailed; afterwards the alcoholic was a patient to be treated.
• In this recording she tells her own story of her very alcoholic drinking; and her recovery in AA.
